  Steps to admission

The admission process allows both you and The Janus School to get to know one another. The criteria for admission include the student’s a) diagnosis of a primary learning disability; b) potential for skill improvement; and c) absence of a primary emotional or behavioral disability.

Step 1. Let us send you more information about our school.

Arrange to visit the school during an open house or meet individually with the Director of Admission.

Step 2. Complete the application and return it with the application fee.

Request that records from the current  teacher, school,  physician, and optometrist or ophthalmologist be forwarded to Janus.

Submit a psycho-educational evaluation for your child that is no less than three years old. The evaluation must include both cognitive and achievement testing.

If applicable, submit speech and language testing results.

Step 3. After reviewing the completed application, the Director of Admission will schedule a student visit, generally for three full days and may include placement testing. This will allow the faculty to work with the student and make recommendations to the admissions committee regarding placement.

After completing these steps, we’ll have the information we need to determine whether The Janus School can offer your child an opportunity to succeed.
